This page includes movies on helping you get around in Inspector Pro. I like to think of it as 11 movies on Inspector Pro and what ways it can be helpful to you in your development.
The very first thing you'll need to do is generate a DDR and import it into Inspector Pro:

One of the most common things you'll be using Inspector Pro for is viewing References:

Back by popular demand - Script Trace allows you to visually see the path a script and all of it steps or scripts will take:

Another common thing you'll be using Inspector for is to help you detect problems. But Inspector goes beyond just detecting problems. It also allows you the ability to selectively pick what things look for and run detection at any time.

Ever want to share the analysis with your fellow developers... now new in Inspector Pro 3.0v2 is the ability to host database file on FileMaker Server just as you would any other FileMaker database. There are a few steps to get it hosted and this short video talks about those steps. Also worth mentioning is that you can now also open up Inspector Pro (database file) directly in FileMaker Go. Import a DDR before hand and then just copy the Inspector Pro database file over to your iPad and open it just as you would any other FIleMaker database file on your iPad. Great for having it as a side aid to your debugging work, or as a way to quickly see where something is being referenced.

Ever want to see what has changed from one version to the next? This version of Inspector Pro does it so much better than the prior version. We are also making use of the Scribe plug-in from 360Works, to provide some visual feedback as to what has been added, modified or deleted. All of this is customizable and comparisons can be run for any part of your solution and against any prior DDR analysis. Its very powerful and very useful.

See any data that you would like to have - Just export it:

Inspector Pro has literally hundreds of reports available. They are consistent so if you ever needed to document an entire solution you could do that. Also added bonus reports if you open Inspector Pro with FileMaker - you can generate a couple of reports that have some interesting charts. Here is an example of the Basetable percent indexed report.

Here is a fields summary report giving you the essential details in a nicely organized report.

Something unique and different to Inspector is the Security Perspective functionality. I wish this type of view existed in the product today. Especially great for users who have to deal with lots of security issues.

Inspector Pro is build on our FOCUS framework and filtering using the framework is all centered around Quick Find. Its been great - but the other big bonus is that we also allow users to perform native FileMaker finds as well - the best of both worlds.

We go into more details about References and Dependencies here. Deleting dependencies isn't a big deal in most cases. But deleting something that is referenced by other elements is a big deal and Inspector helps you get an accurate picture of where things are referenced.

Here is a movie about those 2 charted reports - Indexes and Records. Its great to be able to see your data sometimes.

Calculations can be found in 8 places and in Inspector pro we normalize all the calculations so that you see all their dependencies. Ever wanted to perform a find for a string that you might have used in a number of calculations, or how about an external plug-in call. You can now search with great accuracy all calculations for that item. Here are all the places where you can find calculations.
